As a parent, it seems like your life is filled with fighting your kids to do something they don’t want to. Take out the trash, do their homework, brush their teeth. It’s a constant struggle, to teach your child to be an independent being who can...
There are many ways to make tooth brushing more fun for your kids, and using a cell phone app is one of them. Below are a few apps that you can use with your kids to make brushing more enjoyable.
AquaFresh has two apps to help with brushing: Time2Brush and BrushTime. Both apps offer a catchy, fun song called the Nurdle Song (Nurdles are toothpaste people) to brush along to. It reminds kids to brush the inside and out, top and bottom, and even the tongue. Every time your children brush their teeth, they earn stars that they can use to buy costumes to dress up their Nurdle.
Brush DJ is an app that plays two minutes of music (from the user’s device) to help children brush for the full two minutes. The app will remind them to brush, floss, and use mouthrinse. It will also let you know when it is time to take your children for a visit to the dentist or change their toothbrush. Brush DJ changes the “boring” tooth brushing time into something more enjoyable.
Brusheez also offers a fun song to brush along to. It is a free app. Your children go on a toothbrush journey with a few different characters that they can customize by gender, color, and the amount of teeth in their mouth (so that the character can match your child as they lose teeth). Then the little monster on the app brushes his or her teeth for an allotted amount of time while your child brushes their teeth at the same time.
Chomper Chums lets your child pick a tooth brushing buddy: a lion, horse, or crocodile. The brushing buddy then teaches your children the proper way to brush and floss their teeth. As your child brushes their teeth, they earn points that they can use to feed their animated friend.
Oral-B and Disney have teamed up to make brushing more fun. Your child can scan the character from his or her toothbrush or toothpaste, and then as the two minute timer counts down, a digital toothbrush brushes away the screen of the phone revealing a picture of their favorite character. They can also unlock achievements, stickers, and more.
In this app, an evil sorceress has cast a spell that has infected the land with cavities. The player has to clean the teeth of the characters to break the spell. There are two-minute long videos that your child watches while brushing their own teeth, and with consistent use of the app, you can unlock more characters to play with later. Only your child can save the land from cavities.
